Can Someone Replace Taylor Swift as the Country Music Icon?

Taylor Swift was originally a country music singer until she decided to leave the genre and create a future in pop songs in August 2014. Her first pop album was the “1989”. Still, without Taylor on the country music side, this music doesn’t stop clinging to the singer. Just recently, Taylor Swift was awarded at the 6th Songwriter/ Artist of the Year Award in the gala dinner by 45th Nashville Songwriters Association.

The 25-year-old singer and songwriter did great in introducing country music to the generation as well as bringing a new generation to this type of genre. She amazingly hit the top chart and her songs were played on both pop and country radio.

Cody Alan, executive producer of CMT Radio Live and CMT After MidNite, told FOX411 Country, “Taylor [is an artist] that broke through and crossed over into the mainstream. We have other artists [in country] that have done similar all comes down to good music."

Who does Alan referring to? Who are those artists? He shared four singers who can continue, or even replace Taylor Swift’s country music popularity.

Who will be next Taylor Swift?

  1. Maddie and Tae

Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye, both 20 years old, have future on country music songs. The duo boasts the genre’s popularity with their first single, the “Girl in a Country Song”. This song hit the top chart focusing on the issue of women stereotyping. Just like Taylor, Madie and Tae appeal to younger audiences. The only distinction between this duo and Taylor is they’re playing traditional sound.

  1. Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini is another artist who can write songs and breaks records just like Taylor Swift. After three years of not getting the number one Billboard country airplay chart spot, Ballerini again earned the spot with her debut tune “Love Me Like You Mean It”. The song was originally written by the 22-year-old singer, which hit the number one chart. She is one of the eleven great solo female singers to hit the top chart with her debut single.

  1. Kelly Clarkson

The “Invincible” singer, Kelly Clarkson, is a good pick to fill Swift’s place in the country music industry. Clarkson is a well- established pop star singer that rules the world of pop right after she became the first and grand winner of “American Idol”. The 33-year-old singer had released duets with country stars and some of them were played in country radio. She has successfully introduced her pop fans to country music, however, may make them wary because of her flip- flopping between pop and country music.

  1. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is still on the list of artist to embrace the Country Music industry. She is undeniably the best choice among others because of her uniqueness and personality. Everybody believes of her international appeal that comes with exceptionality and longevity. Admittedly, country music needs Taylor and people still aspire for the singer to return to the genre.

How about you? Who will be the next Taylor Swift? Would the country music will still be on the limelight without her? Or somebody can fit in and continue the country music genre?
