Since its first airing on June 11, 2002, American Idol has been the leading and most popular TV series in America. Its success was described as "unparalleled in broadcasting history" as it continuously produces outstanding singers worldwide and consistently gain audiences attention and support.

American Idol has gone too far. It has created numbers of best singers, who have made themselves on top of the others. These singers have produced their own albums, starred some movies, and have crafted their own career. The question is where are they now? Who have they become? Kelly Clarkson

Awarded as the first American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson is now truly a successful singer produced by American Idol ever. "A Moment Like This/ Before Your Love", her coronation single, climbs number 1 in the chart after its release on September 17, 2002.

Six of her albums hit the album chart's top 3. So far, she has credited of over 25 million album sales. Sixteen albums including her latest "Heartbeat Song" ranked up on the US Pop Top 40.

Ruben Studdard

The "Velvet Teddy Bear" had his first single "Flying Without Wings" after winning the second season of American Idol. The song debuted at the 2nd spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Ruben Studdard has gained consistent victory in the adult R&B market category before he won the TV series. He successfully earned a spot in the R&B album chart and six of his albums ranked number 12 or above. Studdard also topped the Gospel chart with his "I Need an Angel" album. Last 2014, he released his recent album, the "Unconditional Love".


Fantasia Barrino, professionally known as Fantasia, has one of the most celebrated performances during the American Idol Season  Three with her song "Summertime". Fantasia was the youngest American Idol winner at age 19, long after the success of Jordan Sparks, who won at age 17 on season 6. Her first single "I Believe" got the highest spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Aside from being awarded as the Best Female R&B in 2010 and earned 10 Grammy award nominations, Fantasia received praise for her "The Color Purple and After Midnight" performance. Twelve of her singles reached the R&B Top 40. Fantasia is now working on her fifth album.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood has released her first single, " Inside Your Heaven", which debuted at the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. She is also one of the most commercially successful singers next to Kelly Clarkson. Her Greatest Hits collection and four studio albums outshine on the country album chart.

Out of 12 nominations, Carrie Underwood has won seven times in the Grammy Awards. Her single " Something In the Water" has topped the country chart in 2014.

Taylor Hicks

The oldest winner of American Idol, Taylor Hicks has won the race with Katharine McPhee during the American Idol Season 5 Finale. Hicks' "Do I Make You Proud", which is his first post- idol single, earned gold sales and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at the top spot.

His four singles spotted a space in the top 40 of the Adult contemporary chart. Taylor Hicks Broadway performance and national touring is always outstanding.
